Abydos and Dendara

Full day Edfu, Kom Ombo
You will start early in the morning heading south to visit the great Temple of the Falcon god Horus in Edfu you will then continue driving to visit the amazing temple of the crocodile god Sobek in Kom Ombo, once finished you will be brought back to Luxor. Sobek was the deification of crocodiles, as crocodiles were deeply feared in the nation so dependent on the Nile River. Egyptians who worked or travelled on the Nile hoped that if they prayed to Sobek, the crocodile god, he would protect them from being attacked by crocodiles. The town is known for the major Ptolemaic temple, built between 237 BCE and 57 BCE, into the reign of Cleopatra VII.
